In the winter of 2014, I took a class with Chauncey Monte-Sano as part of my masters program at the University of Michigan. The class was about teaching and learning in social studies, and I decided to focus my final project on how to better teach my students to identify, use, and explain evidence in their writing. This blog and a revamping of my website are part of the result of that project because I wanted to document and share what I decided to try in my classroom. |
Plus, I know there are tons of others out there thinking about the same questions, issues, and challenges. Doing all of this online, in a blog, and hopefully in a supportive but questioning online community, can help me build networks, create ideas, and become a better a teacher and learner. So please, if you're reading this, engage with the ideas, with the questions, and with me. I want this to be a conversation with more than just myself, so comment, question, and share as much as possible.
